Casino operator Melco Resorts & Entertainment, a subsidiary of Melco International, has announced that City of Dreams Mediterranean will open on 10 July in Cyprus. The 550 million euro new property is the first integrated resort in Europe, featuring an unparalleled array of offerings, including Europe’s grandest casino, fine dining, extensive entertainment, and the biggest expo centre in Cyprus.
According to a company statement released on 12 May, City of Dreams Mediterranean comprises 500 stylish guest rooms and suites, a 7,500 square metre casino packed with the world’s most exciting table games, a designated Poker area, state-of-the-art slot machines, and live entertainment.
With 8,000 square metres of indoor and outdoor event space, the resort can accommodate functions of all sizes, from bespoke weddings to large-scale conferences and concerts. Facilities include a Grand Ballroom accommodating over 1,000 guests, the multi-functional Forum, state-of-the-art meeting rooms, and a Roman-style Amphitheatre.
City of Dreams Mediterranean General Manager, Grant Johnson, said it was the company’s first project in Europe to bring a unique and exciting experience to its guests with modern design, top entertainment and immersive experience.
In addition, according to information published on Melco’s website, Melco currently operates a temporary casino in Limasol, the first licensed casino in Cyprus, and four satellite casinos in Nicosia, Larnaka, Ayia Napa and Paphos. After the opening of City of Dreams Mediterranean, Melco will continue to operate the satellite casinos and the temporary casino will cease operations.
The new property is scheduled for a soft opening on 12 June while a grand opening is slated on 10 July.
